Highfields Kindergarten specialises in children’s play-based learning, ensuring education combines with social and emotional development, for children from 3.5 - 5 years of age. The Kindergarten provides a nurturing, engaging and stimulating education and care environment where teaching professionals understand the importance of the early years in assisting children to develop, and have the knowledge and experience, to ensure they reach their full potential.
Staff Consistency
Each Kindy group is led by a University qualified Early Childhood Teacher, who plans and implements the program, along with their Teaching Assistant. The same staff spend the entire Kindergarten session with your child – yes, including lunch!
Consistent Attendance
The same group of children attend each day, enabling strong bonds and rich relationships to form between children, families and staff.
Community Spirit and Input
Many families make long lasting friendships at Kindy. Families engage in decision making and form the Management Committee that partners with staff to discuss and guide decision making in the management of the Kindergarten.
Not for Profit
Kindy is not about making money, it is where children come first. Any profit is reinvested into children’s education through improving environments, purchasing new resources or upgrading equipment.

Since the establishment of the Kindergarten 33 years ago, we have fostered a love of learning for thousands of children in our community; and some of those are now returning to enrol their own children.
