Our Teacher Mrs Moran, has peacocks visit her house that leave feathers everywhere! She shared these with the children & their idea was to paint with them. After experimentation, the children discovered etching in the paint with the feathers was more effective. Following this interest, a bird’s nest containing different feathers & natural items was placed in the playground for the children to discover. This has led to lots of rich conversation about the nest & curiosity about what species of birds might have left the different feathers. The children are now planning to make a feather collection, create their own binoculars to bird watch & to read lots of stories about birds.
